Raducanu advanced to round three in three of the four Grand Slams in the current campaign.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has pulled out of her remaining competitions this season due to a medical condition she has been fighting in recent days.

At 22 years old had planned to participate in Tokyo and Hong Kong but opted to return home to recover prior to beginning next year's training.

Those preparations will include coach Francisco Roig, as the pair will keep partnering again next season.

She underwent blood pressure monitoring during her first-round match with Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and stopped playing when behind 6-1 4-1 on a very muggy occasion.

She needed once more a doctor's assessment at the recent Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to local wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.

Her movement was far from freely in the deciding set versus Zhu due to the lower back problem that has troubled her at times this year.

Such performances followed a positive campaign, in which the player advanced into the top 30 globally for the first time in more than three years, ended with three successive defeats.

Raducanu had three match points before losing to Pegula in the third round in Beijing last month.

Raducanu won 28 matches this year and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami Open in March.

Ranked first in Britain reached the quarter-finals of the WTA 1000 event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro during the tournament before losing in a three-set match to Pegula, ranked fourth.

Her coach was Mark Petchey as coach from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role ahead of the US Open.

The original arrangement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was through the season's conclusion but the partnership will continue, with planned training sessions late this year.

She mentioned that the trial session alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

She nearly succeeded to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at the first competition with Roig in August's Cincinnati tournament.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she advanced to round three before being beaten by Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
