President Trump Invites Families of Injured National Guard Soldiers to the Presidential Residence

President Trump revealed on the weekend that he has invited the relatives of a Guard member killed last week to visit the White House.

He added that he spoke to her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Details on the Tragic Incident

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a shooting on Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her fellow service member, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

Gatherings across the state have occurred in their remembrance.

White House Call

The commander-in-chief said he’s proposed a meeting at the presidential residence for the families of both members of the West Virginia Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a hard experience, visit the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” Trump told journalists. “And likewise with him, recover or not.”

Public Support

Attendees assembled over the weekend at the high school in the state to pay respects to Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been serving with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s government program to support public safety in Washington DC.

Remembering Beckstrom

“She was the individual that instructors desired. She carried herself with quiet strength, a contagious smile and a positive energy that lifted those around her,” the principal, the head of her previous school, informed the media. “She was sweet, considerate and always ready to help others.”

Memorial details for Sarah are still being arranged.

Judicial Actions and Policy Changes

Officials have indicted a 29-year-old individual from Afghanistan with a charge of homicide and charges of attempted murder while armed.

The tragedy prompted the government to suspend asylum processing and temporarily stop issuing visas to holders of Afghan passports.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

The airman, a native of Martinsburg, started his military career in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of his local high school, per the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, West Virginia governor the governor said on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general Bondi stated on the program that she also intended to visit his relatives.

Memory of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County high school in mid-2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a military police officer with honor, per the military.

“She had a lot of goodness and she absolutely had courage,” the governor told the audience at the memorial. “Though her time ended too soon, she has made an impact that’s going to last forever.”
