Renowned Star The actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.

Stateside actor Finn, who featured in beloved TV shows such as "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at the age of 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in LA recently after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, according to media reports.

"He never met a stranger - only friends he had yet to meet," his relatives stated in a message.

They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".

A Notable TV Career

Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.

He was also seen in a recurring role on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.

He starred as the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.

In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several popular shows, such as:

  • "King of Queens"
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • "House"

His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.

His film credits are It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".

Beyond the Screen

Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.

He was part of a six-person improv troupe known as Beer Shark Mice.

"He guided, supported, and advised many learners during his career and it would be difficult to find a person anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.

In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he posted publicly.

Pat Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, his three kids, and his family.
