Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Battles Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts
Arsenal's 10-game victorious run was ended by Sunderland prior to the international break, however will the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated soccer expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of special visitors.
In week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
The singer's latest record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.
Soccer and Family Experiences
Olly is a talented soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several charity football games down the years - but he is not planning a professional comeback as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a charity match the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!
"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or son decides to play instead."
The singer and his spouse his partner have two children, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.
"I won't push football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer side," he said.
"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a football club for a period too.
"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our team for two or three years and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Predictions
Saturday, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.
I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, however. Burnley are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.
It suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
Olly's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear strong again.
West Ham's sole away victory this campaign came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was previously Forest manager.
So, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?
I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's prediction: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign started, but they have impressed a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four games.
A family member advised me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.
The forward will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.
They have not had great success on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently decent at their stadium. Brentford will try to attack on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be rather tight. 1-1
AI's prediction: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.
Fulham have have plenty of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.
Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.
Their performance in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.
The sensible thing would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the end of October.
However I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to continue going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.
Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be extremely eager for a positive result, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.
Sutton's prediction: 1-0
Olly's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that Fulham are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0
AI's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
