Three Named as Finalists for Young Athlete of the Year Honour

English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been selected as contenders for the this year's Young Sports Star of the Year award.
The trio have been honoured for their remarkable achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a record-breaking innings.
Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his sensational debut year.
The three contenders were revealed during a live broadcast on a national radio breakfast show.
The champion will be unveiled on the annual sports awards show on December 18th.
The event will be broadcast from seven in the evening GMT.
The Football Star

Just three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to winning the Euros.
She entered the fray to score key tying goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.
Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.
Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the finest emerging star on the continent.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.
Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, sustained a serious knee injury in October.
"Being nominated for Young Sports Personality of the Year is incredible," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my family, coaches, team-mates and fans."
Littler's Profile

Littler's 2025 began in sensational style as - while still 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.
He secured a dominant victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.
His success continued - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the first time.
At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, breaking the previous record.
"To receive a nomination for this award again is a big honour," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a highlight for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."
The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and rose to fame with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.
Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.
It also stands as the shared third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin finished second in the batting rankings and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.
"I'm incredibly grateful to be nominated for the Young Sports Personality of the Year award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it encourages more girls to get into cricket."
