The thrilling extended clash that saw the Dodgers defeat the Blue Jays 5-4 attracted a combined 51M viewers across the United States, Canadian, and Japanese markets. MLB announced this is the highest-rated World Series finale after the 1991 contest between the Twins and Atlanta Braves.

International Viewership Numbers
In the Canadian market, the climactic game recorded over 11 million viewers on the Sportsnet network and the French TVA Sports. This was the most-watched English broadcast in Canada after the 2010 Winter Olympics.
In the Japanese market, where the deciding game began at 9 p.m. local time, it averaged 12M. This came after the previous Friday’s sixth game – in which Fall Classic Most Valuable Player Yamamoto allowed one run in six frames – averaged over 13 million viewers, making it the most-watched World Series matchup on a single network in Japan.
